hop bines

the established hop patch...

and, below, the newer hops patch. They were transplanted last spring and suffered from a decided failure to thrive.


I'm adding a nutrient boost for these guys. According to Worthy Garden Club (https://www.worthygardenclub.com/uploads/4/5/8/1/45815417/how_to_grow_hops.pdf), hops like deep, fertile soil and benefit from a topdressing of fertilizer (composted manure with some feather meal or blood meal) starting in April/May and continuing every few weeks until July 4th.

And below are the established hops with some grapefruit rind (potassium) and blood meal (nitrogen)...
